Icelandic local authority, the City of Reykjavík (Reykjavíkurborg) ran a shorter working week trial with the national government (2014-2019 for the city, 2017-2021 for central government) covering around 2,500 workers across 66 workplaces with no pay cut, trials that have since led 86% of Iceland's workforce to gain a right to reduced hours through collective agreements.
